This is my personal website. This notice explains what personal information it collects, why, and what your rights are. In short: the only personal information I collect is what you choose to send me through the contact form, and I use it only to reply to you.
John G. MacAskill, based in Fife, Scotland, is responsible for this website and the information collected through it. You can contact me about privacy using the contact form on this site or via LinkedIn.
This is a personal site. Consultancy work is delivered through OWC (part of Aqualis Group). If an enquiry relates to OWC work, I may pass it to OWC, and OWC's own privacy notice will then apply to how it handles your information.
When you use the contact form, I collect your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. I use these only to read and reply to your enquiry. My lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to someone who has asked to get in touch.
I do not use your details for marketing, I do not sell them, and I do not add you to any mailing list.
I keep contact form messages for up to 12 months, or longer only if we're in an ongoing conversation, and then delete them.
I do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this site. The typefaces on this site are supplied by an outside service, which receives your IP address when your browser loads them:
Links to other sites (LinkedIn, Recharge, Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts and others) are governed by those sites' own privacy policies once you follow them.
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how I use it. Get in touch using the contact form and I'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
